wonderful stuff!!! I own a plumbing merchants in Nth London.My plan is to find and buy a station in the west country and bring it back to life.Helping preservationist groups to revive stock. Shame Masbury has gone ...Hope it works out. Good luck,I will visit and support where i can.

Re. the photo of the rails in the road at Stalbridge, this was the siding to the wartime buffer depot (now building supplies). The siding was extanded across the road from the goods yard. As far as I can remember the siding on this side of the road was never lifted, but was covered over to form part of the yard for the builders merchants.
 
I am afraid that the passage of a great many years the poor little structure appears to be in danger of collapse (unless the TNDRT get there in time!?). It is truly amazing that it has actually stood for as long as it has. 3rd Aug '03. Pic © Mark Pike

Brilliant! We found this station whilst on holiday in Dorset, it still looks exactly the same now (Aug '08), it was tricky to get close to it, as the farmer has sealed the whole station in, but for the pictures we took, it was well worth the effort. :D
